We offer 2 Full Courses for you, they are an Emergency Medical Technician EMT and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician AEMT, these are listed below in detail with pricing. In addition we offer Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Annual refresher Trainings.
Welcome to the Best Medic Group Emergency Medical Technician Courses. These courses consists of an online component that is completed prior to attending the highly practical face-to-face lab module.
Step 1: Once you are enrolled with us and your deposit is paid then we will send a welcome email to you with your course login details and your course link. This is one of the finest training portals you will find anywhere in the world and forms the backbone of all your learning and EMT Lab assessments, it includes a range of videos, exercises, tests, refresher exercises and of course your main resource E manual as well as a real paper manual as well. You can access the online component via most web browser ( iPad, tablets, PC or Mac ) and this will become your “go to” resource during your course with us – everything is there, conveniently available when you need it.
Step 2: is to then attend the 7 day Lab modules (AEMT's are 10 days), it's one of the most challenging 7 days you will ever experience but also probably the most rewarding. You will be trained in advanced prehospital care skills and build on the knowledge already gained while completing the online pre-course work. For some of you maybe you prefer to split these Labs up into smaller increments over time, thats ok for you to do and you just need to fit in when these are being run. You have up to 12 months maximum to complete both the pre-course learning and face to face lab modules. Extensions can be granted however fees for this will apply. During the 2020 Covid outbreak we also introduced Zoom training to our system and have now put into this course extra Zoom training and meetings throughout your course. We also operate some Labs throughout a course to enable you to gain hands on earlier then at the end.
You can fast track completion of the online full course and finish the online in a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks, but like most things, taking your time to ensure you have sound knowledge and comprehensive practical skills will provide you with a qualification that stands apart from others in the industry.
The EMT qualification is to an International standard which we have expanded to include Australian Nationally Recognised Units of competency, further adding to the portability of the skills and knowledge. The additional Nationally Recognised units will be covered during the face to face module and are delivered on behalf of Vital First Aid Training Services Pty Ltd RTO # 90531.
Best Medic Group monitors your online progress with you and is able to assist if there are any issues.
Our EMT's work closely with State Ambulance services.

What is the difference between a Paramedic and an EMT? The word Paramedic within Australia is a protected word and you must be registered with the Governments Authority, APHRA, to be able to use that title. In a number of Countries EMT's and Paramedics work together in ambulance services with Paramedics able to administer a number of drugs without consult whereas the Emergency Medical Technician will require a consult. Within Australia EMT's are not required to be registered and have restrictions placed on them for drug use, dependent on the State requirements.
Is the Emergency Medical Technician Courses nationally recognised training?
Parts of the course are nationally recognised and operate under the RTO as listed in the Courses outline. Other parts are not nationally recognised, these are clearly listed under the courses outlines.
Do the courses have much hands on training, or is it all computer based?
We have extensive hands on training where you are using the equipment and working with simulators and real people. Our course is very real world.
Is there work available for me when I complete my Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Course with Best Medic Group?
Yes, in many cases there is and we retain most of our STudents as part of our Team. This of course is dependent on where you live, where our work is at that time and how busy we are. We will ALWAYS select from our own Students in preference to anyone else.
